About the Home Care Support Worker Role
As a Home Care Support Worker, you will deliver essential care and domestic services to clients within their homes and local communities. Your role will be centred on promoting wellbeing, independence, and personal choice while providing respectful, reliable support.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing domestic assistance including cleaning and laundry
- Assisting with personal grooming and hygiene
- Providing medication reminders as required
- Supporting food shopping, menu planning, and meal preparation
- Assisting with mobility within the home and community
- Supporting clients to attend appointments and engage in daily activities
- Building positive, trusting relationships with clients
- Ensuring clients’ safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times
This Home Care Support Worker role offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to balance work with personal commitments while remaining close to home.
Skills and Qualifications Required
To be successful as a Home Care Support Worker, you will ideally have:
- A positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting others
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, Disability, or Home and Community Care
OR Bachelor/Diploma of Nursing (or completion of first year of nursing studies) - Current Australian driver’s licence
- Own reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance (essential)
- First Aid and CPR certification (required prior to commencement)
- Strong communication skills with good spoken and written English
- Additional language skills (highly regarded)
- Full Australian working rights
- Current Police Check and Working With Children Check (support provided if required)
