💼 Position Overview:
We are hiring Kitchen Hands & Food Safety Assistants for aged care facilities across Footscray and nearby suburbs. You will play a key role in ensuring clean, safe, and efficient kitchen operations while supporting meal preparation and hygiene standards.
🕙 Shifts:
- 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Flexible daily rosters (including short-notice shifts)
- First-in, first-served basis
- Ongoing ad hoc opportunities
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic meal preparation under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen and food service areas
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Follow strict food safety guidelines and aged care protocols
- Support cooks and senior kitchen staff
- Assist with stock rotation and storage organization
- Ensure compliance with manual handling procedures
✅ About You – Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience in aged care kitchens or hospitality preferred
- Solid understanding of food safety & hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Respectful and caring attitude towards elderly residents
- Flexibility to work weekends and short-notice shifts
- Must have:
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
- NDIS Screening Check / Yellow Card or National Police Check
- Legal right to work in Australia
- Valid Australian Driver’s License
