👨‍🍳 About the Role:

We’re currently hiring a Food Services Attendant to join our friendly kitchen team at our Port Melbourne Hostel on a part-time basis. This hands-on role involves food preparation, plating, meal distribution, and general kitchen duties, contributing to the delivery of healthy, delicious meals for our residents across multiple locations.

🕒 Your Roster:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday – 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday – 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

🔑 Key Responsibilities:

  • Distribute meals to residential homes accurately and efficiently
  • Assist chefs with food prep, cooking, packing, and serving
  • Plate meals with attention to nutritional and visual standards
  • Ensure dietary requirements and special meal plans are followed
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including dishwashing
  • Support compliance with food safety laws and organisational policies
  • Contribute to reviewing and maintaining standardised recipes

✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • Current Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to complete Food Safety Training)
  • Experience in food services within aged care or community care settings (highly desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety guidelines and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Flexible, reliable, and adaptable to changes in a dynamic environment
