About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Hand & Cleaner to join our team at Lady McKusker House, Duncraig. This is a permanent part-time role offering 31 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster.
Roster Breakdown
Week 1:
- Friday to Sunday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Week 2:
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Friday to Sunday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen & Food Services:
- Prepare and plate meals according to scheduled meal times
- Serve and clear meals for residents
- Maintain hygiene standards in food prep and service areas
- Follow food safety and health regulations
- Respect individual dietary requirements and personal choices
Cleaning Duties:
- Clean and sanitize designated areas (e.g., mopping, vacuuming, dusting)
- Follow a structured cleaning schedule
- Respond to urgent cleaning tasks as needed
- Promote a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
About You – Skills & Experience
- Prior kitchen hand or food preparation experience in aged care or hospitality
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Great time management and communication skills
- A passion for working with older people and food service
- Certifications in cooking/food preparation (preferred)
- Understanding of infection control and cleaning protocols
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid Food Handlers Certificate
- Evidence of COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations (as per Amana Living policies)
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
- Completion of pre-employment checks and referee screening
