About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Hand & Cleaner to join our team at Lady McKusker House, Duncraig. This is a permanent part-time role offering 31 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster.

Roster Breakdown

Week 1:

  • Friday to Sunday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Week 2:

  • Monday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Friday to Sunday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen & Food Services:

  • Prepare and plate meals according to scheduled meal times
  • Serve and clear meals for residents
  • Maintain hygiene standards in food prep and service areas
  • Follow food safety and health regulations
  • Respect individual dietary requirements and personal choices

Cleaning Duties:

  • Clean and sanitize designated areas (e.g., mopping, vacuuming, dusting)
  • Follow a structured cleaning schedule
  • Respond to urgent cleaning tasks as needed
  • Promote a clean, safe, and welcoming environment

About You – Skills & Experience

  • Prior kitchen hand or food preparation experience in aged care or hospitality
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Great time management and communication skills
  • A passion for working with older people and food service
  • Certifications in cooking/food preparation (preferred)
  • Understanding of infection control and cleaning protocols

Mandatory Requirements

  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Evidence of COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations (as per Amana Living policies)
  • Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
  • Completion of pre-employment checks and referee screening
